High ink performance and machine technology achieves outstanding speed.

Highest-speed printing is achieved in the same product category through Mimaki’s high technological standards and ink performance. Newly developed printhead and ink jet technology Two newly developed staggered printheads deliver a wider print swath. Each ink color has its own specific gravity and viscosity. To achieve precise placement of the ink droplets onto the media, Mimaki designed an optimum waveform that allows the printhead to jet each ink color at the appropriate jetting angle without losing excellent ink droplet circularity. Moreover, various ink droplet sizes are precisely placed from the minimum size 4pl to the maximum size 35pl. Small droplets create beautiful high-resolution printing, and large droplets are very useful for high-speed printing. Thus, the JV300-130/160 satisfies a wide range of needs including beautiful high-quality printing and productive high-speed printing.

Quick-dry SS21 ink that achieves outstanding speed

SS21 ink was developed through the concentrated knowledge and technology of Mimaki. The SS21 ink dries quickly on the media due to a good balance between ink penetration and solvent volatilization. High productivity is achieved through high-density printing at high-speed modes without blocking and bleeding.

SS21 ink creates value-added printings

A wide range of ink colors, including newly developed colors. SS21 ink has nine colors, including newly developed orange and light black. Depending on the application, the optimum ink set is selected. Solvent ink ■Ink colors C, M, Y, K, Lc, Lm, W, Or, Lk Cyan (C), magenta (M), yellow (Y), black (K), light cyan (Lc), light magenta (Lm), white (W), orange (Or), and light black (Lk) ■Ink set 1)Four-color for speed printing C, M, Y, K, K, Y, M, C 2)Eight-color for smooth and vibrant printing C, M, Y, K, Lc, Lm, Lk, Or 3)Six-color plus double-white inks   for rapid white printing C, M, Y, K, Lc, Lm, W, W Orange ink broadens the range of color representation. By using the newly developed SS21 orange ink as a process color, 94.8% of the PANTONE color chart is covered with approximate colors. Thanks to a wider gamut with the orange ink, food freshness can be simulated, and corporate colors can be faithfully represented. Light black ink assists in beautiful monochrome image printing. The newly developed SS21 light black ink and superior gray-balance control produce accurate grayscale printing without unexpected color shifts. Smooth and non-grainy skin tones and grayscale gradation are delivered. White ink accentuates ink colors Due to larger ink droplet size, the JV300-130/160 is able to print white ink at higher density than that by conventional models. Accordingly, the degree of white ink opacity is increased. White base layer printing accentuates the brightness of color printing on transparent or opaque media.

Safety low odor eco-solvent ink [ES3]

Safeness, low odor and high- weatherability are achieved with relatively low polarity solvent. Unlike water-based inks, the ES3 doesn't require coated media for printing and thus a production becomes more cost effective.

Sublimation ink Sb53 achieves high-density printing.

Sb53 ink is a sublimation ink that produces bright colors and enables high-density printing. The sedimentary degree of the Sb53 ink is lower than a conventional sublimation ink. Thus, much stable printing is achieved without uneven color print results. The ideal print material is polyester, which is used for apparel fabric, sports uniforms, and swimsuits.

Superior print image quality control technology delivers stunningly beautiful printing.

Mimaki advanced pass system 3 (MAPS3) delivers stable high-quality printing Generally, swath boundaries are straight lines. Therefore, a slight misalignment between boundaries causes banding or uneven color printing. MAPS3 reduces banding and uneven color printing with blurred boundaries similar to gradation printing. ■MAPS3 ON Banding and uneven color printing are reduced by scattering swath boundaries. Beautiful print image is obtained. Figure 5: Graphic explanation of MAPS3. MAPS OFF ■MAPS3 OFF Bandings appear on swath boundaries. Print quality is remarkably degraded because banding is recognizable on each boundary. Three-way intelligent heater system also supports the delivery of the optimum ink droplet form and size. When the temperature of the media is not optimized, the perfect shape and size of droplets are not appropriately adhered onto the media (Figure 6). A patented three-way intelligent heater is built into the JV300, and each heater maintains the temperature appropriately to obtain high-quality printing. ■Patent number■ Japan: 4889059 USA: 8,444,262 China: ZL 200910222559.8

Solutions for uninterrupted print operation

Ink and media shortage, clogged nozzles, and other minor problems influence stable productivity. JV300 fully supports continuous printing with reliable technologies. Nozzle check unit (NCU) automatically detects clogged nozzles and unclogs them. Clogged nozzles are detected automatically by monitoring ink droplets with sensors. When clogged nozzles are found, the nozzles are automatically cleaned. A monitoring interval is set for each print dataset at specified time intervals. The NCU reduces waste printing after the occurrence of clogged nozzles. Nozzle recovery system (NRS) for maintaining productivity Previously, when the issue was not resolved after nozzle cleaning, the printhead needed to be repaired by a technician, and printing operation had to be stopped until the maintenance work was completed. The NRS allows the printer to continue print operations without interruption by using non-defective nozzles as substitutes for defective nozzles until the technician arrives. NRS(Nozzle recovery system) E-mail notification function notifies printer status Via Internet*, printer status is sent to a registered e-mail address when the printing is started or finished. In addition, this function sends a notification when an unexpected print stop occurs due to an ink or media shortage, or other errors. The operator is continually informed of the printer status while unattended print is operated. *Internet and LAN access is required to activate this function. MCT = Mimaki Circulation Technology MCT: Mimaki Circulation Technology for White Ink MCT is a standard feature included to effectively avoid the settling of white pigment in the ink lines by regularly circulating the ink. It prevents print troubles and enables stable output from the start of operation. In addition, MCT contributes to reduction of ink waste, thereby supporting environmentally and economically friendly applications. *MCT is only available for white ink. Reliable ink supply system

UISS*(Uninterrupted Ink Supply System) In 4C ink-set, when the ink run out, ink is automatically supplied from the other cartridge for continuous operation. *When using Sb53 6C ink set, UISS works with M and Bl. Not available with 8C ink-set. Non-Stop Ink replacement In 4C ink-set, empty ink cartridge can be replaced with a new one without stopping the on-going print job. No waste of time and media/ink. *Not available with 6C/8C ink-set. MBIS3(Mimaki Bulk Ink System 3) *Optional Large volume of 2L ink packs are set directly on to the ink station, ensuring continuous large print jobs. New MBIS on the printer saves working space, and large 2L ink pack saves running cost.

Install your printer under the following environments. (1) Avoid direct sunlight. (2) Ambient temperature 20~30℃, Relative humidity 35~65%Rh (with no condensation) (3) Avoid direct airflow form vents or air conditioners. (4) The floor should be level. (5) The floor should be free from vibration. (6) Isolate the printer from fire use. (7) Keep airborne contaminants office level (less than 0.15mg/㎥) (8) No chemical products around. (It may cause print artifacts)
When operating with 4 colors, two cartridges are considered to be one set. When one ink cartridge runs out of ink, the system automatically switches to another cartridge, enabling long unattended printing. You need to replace the cartridge: 1. When the system detects [INK END] during printing. 2. When the system detects [INK NEAR END] as supplying ink(cleaning, ink fill up). 3. When ink cartridge is taken out. 4. When system detects an error on the cartridge. 5. When performing cleaning by using up remaining ink. [Ink Using-up cleaning] This feature preferentially uses the cartridge that indicates [NEAR END] or [INK END] when performing cleaning. That way you are not wasting the remaining inks. [TYPE: NORMAL ONLY] *UISS functions with 4-color operation only. However noted, when it operates with Sb53, 6 colors, UISS functions only on M and BI as an exception) *If you take out the cartridge in supply when the machine is running, the system makes a switch, but it stops the operation.
・Power Supply:Single Phase Less than AC100~120V±10% 1440W×2* Single Phase AC220~240V±10% Less than 1920W×2* ・Frequency: 50/60Hz±1Hz *Applied for the main unit and heater.
NO When printing with process colors other than spot colors (white/silver), you still need the spot colors remained in the cartridge to make a print with the process colors. Thus replace the spot color cartridge if it hits ink end. *Please note: Installable ink varies depending on machines.
YES The following functions support automated operations. (1) NCU (Nozzle Check Unit) It automatically checks nozzle regularly, preventing the nozzle from dropping out at continuous operation. (Check-up timing is user variable). (2) Event Mail The printer has a function to send you email such as PRINT START/FINISH, Print Termination due to error, to your registered email account via Internet. The function keep you informed when you are off site. (3) UISS (Uninterrupted Ink Supply System) *1 When operating with 4 colors, two cartridges are considered to be one set. When one ink cartridge runs out of ink, the system automatically switches to another cartridge, enabling long unattended printing. As far as ink is remained in either of the cartridge, the printer keeps running with no interruption. *1: When using Sb53, 6 colors, UISS functions on M and BI only. Refer to "What is UISS(Uninterrupted Ink Supply System)?" for further details. (4) Automated take-up unit Ensures secured feeding of maximum weight 40kg/maximum diameter 250mm, media. As the diameter of the media grows with take-up operation, it can still take up the media with constant speeding. (5) MBIS III (Mimaki Bulk Ink System III) *2 Large volumetric, 2L ink package installed in the main unit enables continuous printing. 2L ink package is more reasonable than other sizes, realizing lower running cost. In addition, it is installed on top of the machine, and no extra space is needed. *2: MBIS III is optional feature.
Pour the ink in the waste ink tank into other waste tank before it gets full, and hand it to industrial waste trader with SDS. Pour the ink in the waste ink tank into other waste tank before it gets full, and hand it to industrial waste trader with SDS. * Check the number of ink cartridge first to obtain the appropriate SDS from here. * Use metallic oil tin with a lid or red gas can in the market as the “other waste tank”(described above). If you do not have one with you, use a PE waste tank. Note that the container must say [waste ink] or place noticeable memo on it to prevent third party from suffering from the chemical hazard. * Make sure to attach air tight stopper onto the “other waste tank”, and keep it away from fire.
Relocation of the printer should be handled by our qualified MIMAKI engineers, for it may damage the printer or get the printer broken. Relocation requires for the heads to be tested after relocation, needing MIMAKI engineers to check on them. Once your printer relocation schedule is settled, contact our retailer, sales office of tecnical call center and let them know the schedule. Applicable p
The waste ink in the waste ink tank have reached a certain amount (80%). Reset the waste ink in the waste ink tank by replacing the waste ink tank or discarding the waste ink by pulling it into alternate container. Once resetting the waste ink on the machine, the warning message [Check waste ink] will go off. If keep operating the machine by resetting the waste ink yet in fact there are good volume remained in the tank, it will be eventually over-floated. Click here to see how to discard waste ink in the waste ink tank. [How to reset the waste ink] (1) Go to MENU -> MAINTENANCE -> REPLACE WasterInkTank, and then press [ENTER] key. (2) Press [ENTER] key twice while the machine shows Waste ink level. *When resetting the waste ink with the remaining waste ink is less than 80%, then operate the ▲(UP) key to change the level more than 80%, and press the [ENTER] key to reset it. Also you can operate ▲(UP) or ▼(DOWN) keys to register the actual waste ink.
Please see the following. This is the message to warn you to check on the cartridge to see if it is empty; and it appears occasionally. Remove the washing liquid cartridge and check it’s not empty; and reinstall the cartridge to reset the counter and it will cancel the message. * When OK is selected with no washing liquid cartridge removal, then it will cancel the message at the moment, but it will appear once again when you restart the printer.
Please see the following. Please replace the wiper. Make sure to follow the instructions on [WIPER EXCHANGE] under the maintenance menu. See [Operation manual] > [Chaper4 Maintenance] > [Replacing consumables] for details. Run [WIPER EXCHANGE] menu after replacing the wiper, or it keeps showing the message, [Replace a WIPER]. It is because systems in the printer counts the number of wiping operation; unless you run [Replace a wiper] menu, it won’t reset the number. You, in fact, can perform printing without wiper replacement, but continuous usage of the filthy wiper may result in nozzle clogging, thus we recommend for you to replace it any sooner. Since a wiper is one of the consumables, please place an order as you order inks.
Mimaki Inks have an expiration date on them to avoid poor print quality. Printer displays the message, [Expiration] to let you know that installed ink passes the expiration date. Replace the expired ink cartridge. [How your printer operates in expired ink] Your printer displays the message [Expiration] in the next month after the ink expiration; and even if you do not replace the expired ink, you still can continue to run it 2 months after the expiration, and when it passes three month from the expiration date, your printer ceases to operate. [NOTE] If you keep using expired inks, it may result in poor print quality such as degraded colors; we highly recommend for you to replace the expired ink any sooner.
