The heritage of state-of-the-art functions

Ecological & economical applications of white ink MCT (Mimaki Circulation Technology) was developed and designed to circulate the white ink formulations to improve stability and dispersions of the pigments in the fluid reservoir and ink path. Advantages of less white ink maintenance down time and avoids clogging issues while in the bulk ink receptacle and overall jetting of the white UV LED inks. * MCT works only with white ink. Automatic primer application function Usually primers are applied separately in a manual application process, but the UJF-6042 incorporates an automatic primer application function. The new inkjet primer cartridges are simply inserted into the corresponding ink slot, enabling the primer to specifically target the print image area only. * Inkjet primer cannot be used in conjunction with LF-200 inks. During this nozzle downtime, this nozzle recovery function enables printer to produce high quality prints continuously without slowing down the printing process.

Multiple UV ink type options to fulfill your requirements

Three types of UV ink are available to achieve the best print results on a wide range of applications. In addition, eight ink slots enable various ink configurations, such as 6 colors plus white and clear. Furthermore by printing different layers of ink and/or gloss, your images will not only look more enticing but also will have a raised / embossed quality that will satisfy your customers. UV-Curable ink LH-100:Hard UV Ink LH-100:Hard UV Ink (C/M/Y/K/W/Lc/Lm/Cl/Pr) Excels in scratch and chemical resistance. Hard UV ink with fine color repeatability. Flexibility:None LF-140:Flexible UV Ink LF-140:Flexible UV Ink (C/M/Y/K/Lc/Lm/W/Cl/Pr) 6 color inks including light color inks, express smooth gradation, and show flexibility. Flexibility:Good LF-200:Flexible UV Ink LF-200:Flexible UV Ink (C/M/Y/K/W) Enables stretching of ink up to 200% with high adhesion. Applicable to several kinds of substrates. Flexibility:Very good Ink type and color configuration must be chosen at the time of installation. Ink flexibility of LF-140 ink and LF-200 ink may vary according to the substrate; please verify your substrate in advance. Clear ink is not available for LF-140 ink. However, LH-100 clear ink can be used in combination with LF-140 ink. The print mode of 1,800 x 1,800 dpi and 4 pl variable drops cannot be used in conjunction with LF-200 inks.

Applications:Special finish which enhances added value

“3D Lenticular” achieved by high definition This printer can discharge minimum 4pl ink dots in 1,800×1,800dpi. It enables lenticular printing by 3D lens of 100 lpi which had been deemed difficult to accomplish for the existing digital printer. * lpi = line per inch * For 3D lenticular printing, dedicated software for data creation and 3D lens are required separately. 3D Lenticular “Etching process” creates unique textures on metals Etching is a surface treatment which utilizes the corrosion action of metal. thru chemicals. The area which should not be corroded is covered with a mask of UV ink. Then the substrate is immersed into the corrosion solution to be corroded. With such treatment, you can achieve high quality textures, and permanent engraving.

Please secure an installation space that it meets the following conditions. (1) A place avoiding direct sunlight. (2) A place that the temperature and humidity are within specifications.   20-35 deg C (68 to 05 deg F), 35-65%(Rh) (3) A place not exposed to direct air blow from air conditioner, etc. (4) A place that is horizontal.   (If the machine is not placed horizontally, printing quality may be degraded) (5) Vibration–free place. (6) A place where fire is not used. (7) A clean place equivalent to normal office level. (0.15mg per cubic meter or less)
The following is the basic system configuration. RIP software "RasterLink 6" is attached to the main unit. In addition to JV400 main unit, RIP PC and USB 2.0 cable are required. (USB 2.0 cable can be purchased optionally) Using the RIP PC as a server machine, data is sent from your client PC that is running a DTP application to the RIP software "RasterLink 6" through the LAN cable.
Use media that matches to the following specifications. * When you use the accompanying Vacuum table, the weight is 4kg or less (including jig). [About positions of the screw holes] Positions of the screw holes for holding jigs are as below. Size of the screw holes are M4 (ISO screw thread) with through hole. * Screw holes that indicate with red circle are usable. * Screw holes that indicate with red circle are usable.
Please see followings. In case of printing on 3D-media, please prepare and set a particular jig which has the same height as the media to reduce ink mist. For details, please refer to [Precaution when printing in head gap more than 2mm] [Precaution when print on colored or colorless transparent media] When you print on transparent media especially it is colored with red, orange, or colorless transparent media, the sensor light from the obstruction sensor (invisible light beams) may get through the media, and it may sense the media height wrongly then a carriage may crash against the media. As a caution to avoid the head crash, firstly set each media on a jig flatly. Refer to the following ideas as good example to have correct height detection by the obstruction sensor. Before start printing, make sure the obstruction sensor can detect your print media height correctly or not with these ideas. 1. Put a masking tape from inside of the media to make the obstruction sensor can read it. 2. Make another jig for each media to make obstruction sensor reads it. 3. If the media has convexes, put a masking tape on the   convex surface and set the media in the direction which the taped convex surface   can be catched the sensor light.
Input the value directly. Recommended gap is 1.5mm (.015 inch) If the head gap has been changed, the table height will be changed accordingly. UJF-6042 has a function [GAP CHECK]. When [ON] is selected: If an obstacle is detected before or during printing,              the table automatically moves down away from the obstacle.            * Due to the table height continues to move down until the obstruction              sensor does not react it, although the [HEAD GAP] has been set              to 1.5mm,the actual head gap may become more than 1.5mm.             Note that larger head gap more than 1.5mm may create ink mist issue              or low quality print result, and it can be happened if sensor detect              obstacle.            * Obstruction sensor may not detect on colored or colorless transparent              media.             Please see [Q: Is there any caution to print on 3D-media?]. When [OFF] is selected: If an obstacle is detected before printing, the message              "ERROR505 !WORK High" will be displayed and the operation              has stopped. UJF-6042 has a function [WORK SET]. If the thickness of the media is 100mm or less, you need to have an additional Table spacer and Vacuum table to make 1.5mm recommended head gap. Which spacer you need to use is depends on the media thickness. When you change or remove Table spacer, height of the Vacuum table will be changed as below. Procedure to change height of the Vacuum table differs according to serial number of the machine. [Serial number "O134B260" or before] Please refer to below table to choose required tools for each media thickness. [Serial number "O134B261" or later] Please refer to below table to choose required tools for each media thickness. For details, please refer to " Operation manual". [Method of Serial number confirmation] Method - Serial number of the machine is labeled on rear of the machine as below figure. Another method - It is possible to check Serial number of the machine with following procedure. <LOCAL> -> [MAINTENANCE] -> [INFORMATION] -> [SERIAL No.]
Please see followings. 1. Before Print  Shake the white ink cartridge up and down gently if machine has white ink.  Be sure ink does not come out from its spout during shake the cartridge. [How to shake Ink cartridge] Wear gloves and put a cloth on its spout part like as shown in below pictures to prevent from ink spilling out from the spout part. Shake it gently (tilt it like as below pictures) more than 20times, then ink will be mixed. If you shake it roughly, the ink pack inside cartridge may get damaged then ink may leak out. Please shake a cartridge slowly if the ink pack remains small amount of ink inside, otherwise the ink can not be mixed well. 2 . End of the day -Perform [CLEANING] and [NOZZLE WASH] functions. Reference: [Operation manual] -> [CHAPTER 2 Basic Operations] -> [Execution of head cleaning]       [Operation manual] -> [CHAPTER 4 Maintenance] -> [Washing the Nozzle] -Perform [WIPER CLEANING] and [CARRIAGE OUT] to clean the Cap. Reference: [Operation manual] -> [CHAPTER 4 Maintenance] -> [Cleaning of wiper] 3. Maintenance for white ink (White maintenance) This machine has white ink circulation system which prevents from ink precipitation inside the white ink line. If you use white ink 2cc or more* every day, you do not have to perform the White maintenance function. However, if you do not use the machine every day, the White maintenance function has to be operated once every two weeks. Reference:[Operation manual] -> [Chapter 4 Maintenance] -> [Maintenance for white ink] *2cc is equivalent to four times of normal cleaning or fifteen  times of 10cm x 10cm solid printing. 4. When waste ink is full Please be sure to dispose the waste ink from the Waste ink tank and the Wiper bottle pursuant to the regulations of your district. Reference:[Operation manual] -> [CHAPTER 4 Maintenance] -> -[When the waste ink is full] 5. To avoid ink dripping during a print function Ink droplets may occur on a bottom of the carriage due to ink mist at the time of printing. If the ink droplets are dropped on material, it stains on print material surface, making nozzles out or blurred print result. Please clean the bottom of the carriage with preferred Washing liquid and Clean stick. Other -Refill Antifreeze mixed water if the machine is shown "WATER LACK" warming message.
